Collection: TMBO Collection
Magnus Læssøe Stephensen, 1935
1935 is the date on the first draft of this chair and sofa alike by the renowned multi-talent and Danish Architect Magnus Læssøe Stephensen who also designed for established brands as Fritz Hansen and Kay Bojesen. Originally designed for the department store Magasin Du Nord in Copenhagen but now revived under the name TMBO.
The collection was born with the iconic ‘ears’ and laid-back confident attitude, that clearly resonate a designer who not only was ahead of his time, but also became a distinctive feature and continuing source of inspiration in not only his own designs but also for furniture designers in years to come. The meaning of the name TMBO, which is an elephant in Swahili, captures the essence of the design as the designer’s continuing sources of inspiration also was the charming creature.
